Reston Multicultural Festival
Kick off the month in style at the Reston Multicultural Festival held on 21st September at Reston Town Center. This is a cultural program that involves the community through dance, art, and sale of various cultural products including food. It’s a free event with something for everyone making it a perfect place for friends and families. The festival is meant to reflect the multicultural face of Reston through dance and music that explain a lot about various cultures.
Reston Olympic Triathlon
More for the fans of sports, the Reston Olympic Triathlon is expected to test participants on September 8. Since 1984, the triathlon consists of a 1500 meter swim in Lake Audubon, a 25 miles bicycle ride and a 10 kilometers run. Participants from all over attend the event which increases rivalry and at the same time makes it fun. It is also good to just watch and be able to see and encourage athletes to give their best.
Jazz Happy Hour
Jazz Happy Hour with Darden & Friends is going to take place on September 13 at Reston Town Square Park. This is an outdoor event where local jazz artists perform late at night thus offering an entertaining and soothing experience. Take a blanket, some food and drinks and relax to the tunes of jazz. It is the most relaxing way to spend time after a week of work and have good times with friends.
Reggae on the Lake
If Jazz is not your thing, then you should go for Reggae on the Lake that will be held at Lake Anne Plaza on September 7. It is a reggae band’s show, great food, and a great must-visit event. Have a weekend afternoon, have fun and get tanned while listening to reggae tunes. Do not leave home without your sunscreen and your dancing shoes!
Reston Community Yard Sale
Are you looking for unique finds or just want to declutter? Be sure to visit the Reston Community Yard Sale which will take place on September 28 at Halley Rise Complex. It features more than 85 families and lots of vintage pieces, antiques, and other collectibles. For the purpose of shopping or as a merchant, it is a way of spending your Saturday morning and also interacting with your neighbors.
Mehregan Celebration
Bring the Mehregan Celebration on September 28 at The Lake House to welcome the start of the fall season. It is a fun filled fall festival which is especially meant for children where they get to engage themselves in different games, crafts and other activities. This is an excellent occasion to embrace the onset of the chilly weather and the lovely change in season. Bring the whole family for a day filled with joy and activities.
